Maple Pecan Popcorn Recipe

Ingredients
For Maple PopcornÂ
– 6 cups popped popcorn
– 1 cup brown sugar packedÂ
– 1/2 cup maple syrup
– Â 1/2 stick of butterÂ
Candied PecansÂ
– Â 1 cup pecan halvesÂ
– Â 1 1/2 Tbsp brown sugar
– Â 1 1/2 tsp water
– 1/4 tsp maple syrupÂ
– Â 1/8 tsp salt
 PreparationÂ
 – Prepare popcornÂ
– Â For candied pecans, in a medium skillet over medium/low heat, toast pecans until fragrant (about 5 minutes)Â
– Â While toasting pecans, in a small bowl, mix brown sugar, water, maple syrup and salt
– Â Remove pecans from heat and add maple sugar mixture, stirring constantly
– Â Once sugar mixture has hardened to pecans, spread on a baking sheet to coolÂ
– Â In a large pot, melt butter, brown sugar and maple syrupÂ
– Allow to simmer for 5 minutesÂ
– Â Add 1 tsp. baking soda and stir, mixture will expand
– Â Remove from heat, add popcorn and stir until event coatedÂ
– Â Spread on a baking sheet to allow to cool and setÂ
– Â Once everything has cooled, chop pecans into bite size pieces and mix into popcornÂ

This looks so delicious. Iâm going to try it, but I may have to run out and get the maple syrup. All I have on hand is a butter flavored syrup and raw honey. Do you think either would suffice?

Hi Rhonda! It wouldn’t be maple-y, but you could use honey! That would be yummy.. (couldn’t help the rhyme)!
