Spring Break isn’t over yet! This Boozy Banana Popcorn Recipe will be sure to take your taste buds back to the tropics! 🙂
Ingredients
– 6 cups popped popcorn
– 1 stick of butter
– 1/2 cup brown sugar
– 1/4 cup corn syrup
– 1 shot of dark rum
– 1 Tbsp. baking soda
– 1 1/2 cups banana chips
Preparation
– Prepare popcorn
– Over medium heat, melt butter and sugar
– Once sugar has dissolved, add corn syrup and rum (alcohol cooks out)
– Bring to a simmer for 5 minutes
– Add baking soda, mixture will expand
– In a large bowl add popcorn and banana chips
– Pour caramel mixture over popcorn and stir until completely covered
– Spread onto a lined baking sheet and allow to cool before serving
– ENJOY!
– For an alternative: Replace shot of run with 1/4 tsp. rum extract
