Homemade White Cheddar Potato Chips
Wash and clean potato(s). Peel if desired, slice potatoes very thinly. Keep in a bowl of cold water. Set up deep fryer and turn on to 375°F. When oil is hot, place sliced potatoes one at a time. Chips will fry quickly. Watch them closely so that they do not burn. When edges are brown, remove from hot oil and place on towel paper to dry. Immediately sprinkle generously with seasoning.
Baked Potatoes
Peel and slice baked potatoes. Thoroughly wash baked potatoes. Peel away the skin from three-quarters of the potato. Place the skin side down. Place a wooden spoon handle behind the potato. Begin slicing the potato thinly to the depth of the wooden spoon. Do not slice all the way through. Place each potato in a foil sheet. Melt 1 stick of butter or margarine. Carefully pour over the potatoes. Generously shake seasoning over the potatoes. Wrap the potatoes and bake in a 425°F oven for 45 minutes to 1 hour or until done. Remove potatoes from foil wrap, generously sprinkle again with seasoning and serve. These potatoes may also be cooked on a grill. Be sure to turn often so that the butter does not burn onto the potato.
