Tips for selling seasonings

Keep the stand neat and clean.
Wipe down the jars and stand with a damp cloth at least once a day. Greasy popcorn fingers are touching them all day long. It is a good idea to use a compressed air spray (found at office supply stores) to remove spilled seasoning that gets caught in the stand.

Take advantage of Kernel Season's promotional material.
Let the moviegoers know immediately upon entering the theater lobby that you offer Kernel Season's. There are signs, t-shirts, and tons of other promotional materials that inform your clientele about Kernel Season's. After all, as people pass through the lobby, they are deciding whether or not to buy popcorn. If one of the ten flavors excites them, they are more likely to buy popcorn…and drinks. And if they really like the seasoning - which they will - they are more likely to come back to your theater.

Store the seasonings in a cool, dry place.
The seasonings will remain fresh and free flowing for about a year if they are stored properly.

Let your customers switch flavors halfway through their popcorn.
Fill the bag half way. Then ask the customer what flavor he/she wants on the bottom half. Shake in the Ranch, for example. Then fill the bag to the top and ask what they want on top - or just send them to the popcorn seasoning bar! Let's say the customer chooses Nacho Cheddar, now he/she will switch flavors from Nacho Cheddar to Ranch halfway through the bag! This makes popcorn fun and exciting. It may take time to do this and the last thing you want to do is hold up the concession line. But there is a way around this. Designate one line to be the "Kernel Season's Popcorn Seasoning Line." If a customer wants a different seasoning in the middle of the bag, that is the line they go to. If there is nobody in the line, the person working that concession line should simply grab people from the other lines and serve them. This is simple and it works!
