Root Beer Float Popcorn Recipe

Root Beer Float Blog (Option 1)

Root Beer + Ice Cream = Root Beer Float Popcorn! (we got an A+ in math ūüėČ ) Turn your favorite summer drink into a delicious popcorn snack with this recipe!¬†


Р 8 cups prepared popcorn 

Р 1 package white chocolate chips 

Р 1 vanilla bean 

Р 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract 

Р 1/2 stick butter 

Р 1/2 cup brown sugar 

Р 1/4 cup corn syrup 

Р 4 Tablespoons Watkins Root Beer extract (purchased at Walmart) 

Р 1 teaspoon baking soda 


Р Prepare popcorn 

 Over medium heat in a large pot, melt butter 

Р Add sugar, corn syrup and root beer extract; boil for 5 minutes 

Р Add baking soda and stir (mixture will expand!) 

Р Pour over 4 cups of popcorn (half of original amount) and lay on parchment paper to cool

Р Melt white chocolate chips in microwave (stirring every 30 seconds) 

Р Once completely melted, scrape along the inside of the vanilla bean to extract all of it and add vanilla extract; stir 

Р Pour melted chocolate over remaining popcorn and stir until evenly coated 

Р Allow to set on parchment paper 

Р Once both sets of popcorn have cooled, mix together and enjoy!
